If I was calling the shots, Audra McDonald would be starring in Scandal right now over Kerry Washington. I’m not trying to start any trouble, nor do I have any issue with Kerry Washington. It’s just an observation…
But, as the Scandalistas would probably say, I’m obviously not calling the shots, so my opinion means nada, right?
Anyway, I’m always glad to see Audra working! Glad to see Kerry working too.
Ms McDonald has now landed a co-starring role on CBS’ drama pilot The Ordained, which revolves around Tom (Charlie Cox), the son of a Kennedy-esque family who leaves the priesthood and becomes a lawyer to prevent his politician sister from being assassinated.
Audra will play a character named Anthea, described as a senior litigator at the law firm where Tom works, as well as his mentor, boss and ally, who runs Iron Man races to unwind, and lives to win cases.
RJ Cutler will helm the pilot.
Assuming The Ordained goes to series, it’ll mark McDonald’s return to serial TV since her run on Shonda Rhimes’ Private Practice.
