I guess it's safe to assume that bell hooks won't be getting a copy, but for anyone else who's interested Beasts of the Southern Wild will be coming out on standard and Blu-ray DVD on December 4 from Fox Home Entertainment.

Of course the DVD will be loaded with extra features including a "making of" documentary, but the blu-ray DVD will include exclusive extras available only on that DVD.

Among those blu-ray only features will be deleted scenes, the audition tapes of leading actors Quvenzhane Wallis and Dwight Henry as well as their rehearsal scenes tapes together, the music for the film and the creatiion of the mythical creatures The Aurochs.
