Bounce TV has announced that the network will cease airing the television series "Cosby," effective immediately a show it had been broadcasting back-to-back episodes of, every weekday at 5 pm. The sitcom originally aired on CBS from 1996 to 2000.

This news comes less than 24 hours after reports on court documents that showed the comedian admitted obtaining Quaaludes to give to young women he wanted to have sex with, according to documents obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

The documents show that, in 2005, the 77-year-old comedian testified under oath in a lawsuit filed by a former Temple University employee, saying that he gave her three half-pills of Benadryl. Cosby settled that sexual-abuse lawsuit for undisclosed terms in 2006.

Cosby has been accused by more than two dozen women of sexual misconduct, including allegations by many that he drugged and raped them in incidents dating back more than four decades. He has never been criminally charged, and most of the accusations are barred by statutes of limitations. 

Needless to say, Bounce TV’s decision to drop reruns of the comedy series from its lineup, is as a result of the above revelation.

The broadcast network is carried by local television stations, and is available in more than 85 million homes across 90 markets, 90% of African American television homes – including all of the top AA television markets – and three quarters of the total television homes in the United States.
