Chiwetel Ejiofor will join Kate Winslet in the new police crime thriller Triple Nine, which will be directed by John Hillcoat (Lawless,
The Road, The Proposal).
Well, he will possibly join Winslet since, officially, she is currently “in talks” to get on board the film, leaving the possibility that she may not be involved after all is said and done. However, it’s most likely that she is. They wouldn’t announce her interest in the project and that she’s in negotiations, unless they had a sure thing.
However, which ever way it winds up for her, Ejiofor is definitely signed on and ready to go.
Casey Affleck, who took over for the originally-cast Charlie
Hunnam, will join the cast of the film, which tells the story, written by Matt Cook, about a
group of corrupt cops who plan a major heist.
The title comes from the police code “triple nine,” which is used when a police officer is in trouble and needs immediate help..
