Cicely Tyson has booked a guest-starring role in ABC’s new Shonda Rhimes drama "How to Get Away With Murder," which stars Viola Davis.
Tyson’s role is currently being kept under wraps; she’ll be making her appearance when the series returns on January 29, with 6 episodes left in its first season.
Tyson is up for a SAG Award for her starring role in the Lifetime movie based on the Broadway play Tyson also starred in, "The Trip To Bountiful."
"How to Get Away with Murder" premiered on ABC on September 25, 2014. The series was created by Peter Nowalk, produced by Shonda Rhimes and distributed by ABC Studios. Viola Davis stars as a law professor at a prestigious Philadelphia university who, with her students, becomes entwined in a murder plot. The series airs in the slot after "Scandal" (another Shondaland series) on Thursdays at 10 pm.
