Political analyst Angela Rye had another epic clap back this week during a CNN appearance. In a discussion moderated by Anderson Cooper, Rye debated former New York gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino on Democrats and their relationship with President Donald Trump.

Astorino complained that Democrats harbor a "specific hate towards Donald Trump the person," noting that many refused to attend the president's inauguration.

And that is when Rye went in, arguing that, at that time, Democrats based their view of Trump on what the now-president said during his campaign.

"When you say Mexicans are drug dealers and rapists, you have a problem," Rye said. "That's how he started his campaign."

Rye continued, "When you build a campaign built on hate-filled rhetoric, built on bigotry, discrimination, and racism, I'm not going to applaud you, and people that look like me aren't going to applaud you, and people who have heart all across this country who don't look like me aren't going to applaud you."

Rye then took time to defend her former boss, Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA), whose anti-Trump rhetoric Astorino criticized.

"Unfortunately for you and what you might believe, there are several people all over this country who believe just like Congresswoman Water believes, that there is something dangerously wrong with this president, that it's high and overtime that he gets a psychological evaluation," Rye said.

Astorino quipped, "I would say the same thing of Maxine Waters."

Rye wasn't here for that. "I wish you would," she said. "That is my mentor, and you will not disrespect her in that way."
