Is there anything women cannot do? Don't worry, I'll wait.

In today's chapter of the worldly book, "Girls Who Run The World", meet Collette Smith who is the new defensive back coach for the New York Jets. Smith, 44, started as a preseason intern who will work this summer with the defensive backs during training camp, according to the NY Daily News. She is also currently a coach and marketing executive with the New York Sharks, a team under the Independent Women's Football League. Before working on the sidelines, Smith played for the Sharks for three years before a knee injury.

“I’m over the top. I’m humbled and I’m proud,” Smith shared. “This could have happened with any NFL team. But it just so happened that it was with my beloved New York Jets. This is bigger because of that. God forbid it would have been with the Patriots. But I still would have done it.”

Smith will follow in the footsteps of Jen Welter, the first woman to hold a coaching position in the NFL.

Shout out to Gang Green for looking beyond gender and recognizing true talent.
