Former Democratic presidential candidates Cory Booker and Kamala Harris will be endorsing Joe Biden for president, reports Politico.

Booker took to Twitter on Monday to announce his backing of the former vice president.

“The answer to hatred & division is to reignite our spirit of common purpose. Joe Biden won’t only win — he’ll show there's more that unites us than divides us,” he wrote.

The New Jersey senator made an appearance on CBS This Morning explaining why he believes Biden is the candidate who will beat Donald Trump.

“It’s a time for us to beat Donald Trump and it became very clear to me that Joe Biden is the right person to do that,” Booker said. “We have to unify and show our strength.”

The announcement comes after Sen. Harris endorsed Biden on Sunday.

"When I started my run for president, I said America needs a president who reflects the decency and dignity of the American people; a president who speaks the truth; and a president who fights for those whose voices are too often overlooked or ignored,” Harris said in a statement. “I still believe that to this day. That is why I am proud to announce I am endorsing my friend, Vice President Joe Biden, for President of the United States.”

Like her former opponent, Booker, Harris acknowledged unity as the reasoning behind her endorsement in a video posted to Twitter.

“I believe in Joe. I really believe in him and I have known him for a long time. One of the things we need right now is we need a leader who really does care about the people and who can, therefore, unify the people,” she said.

Biden thanked Harris for her support in a tweet.

"Kamala — You've spent your whole career fighting for folks who've been written off and left behind — and no small part of that alongside Beau. From our family: thank you," he wrote.

Sources told CNN Harris decided to officially endorse Biden after Sen. Elizabeth Warren dropped out of the race. She did not want to go against Warren or Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

The support comes after Biden claimed victory in the South Carolina primary as well as 10 of 14 Super Tuesday states.

Harris ended her campaign in December 2019 and will now be campaigning with Biden on Monday in Detroit as he attends the “Get Out and Vote” event.

Klobuchar, Pete Buttigieg, Beto O’Rourke and Michael Bloomberg have also endorsed the Democratic presidential contender.
