Fox Network’s Cosmos reboot of the 1980’s PBS program with host the late Carl Sagen, captured an estimated 8.5 million viewers across 10 networks
last night

The Fox program, hosted by astrophysicist and author, Neil deGrasse Tyson, was broadcast over
Fox, National Geographic Channel, FX,
FXX, FXM, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Mundo
and Fox Life .

And on the Fox Network itself that show got a 2.1 rating and had 5.8 million viewers which is not bad considering it was going up
against AMC’s The Walking Dead which
got 12.7 million viewers and ABC’s new series Resurrection which got 3.6
rating
and garnered some 13.5 million
viewers. but it was definitely better than HBO’s True Detective which got some 3.5 million viewers

And furthermore the series will be broadcast internationally
on 220 channels in 181 countries starting this week which Fox
projects will attract over 40 million viewers regularly worldwide.
