The couple behind a viral series of photos showcasing young girls with natural hair has signed a six-figure book deal.

Photographers Kahran and Regis Bethencourt have partnered with St. Martin’s Press to release a book of their photography, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“We are so excited,” Kahran said. “It’s been a journey trying to get here, but we’re here and we’re ready.”

The book will be a continuation of the pictures that went viral. In the photos, titled "AfroArt," elementary school aged girls are dressed elegantly, and their natural hair is majestic and adorned with jewels, fabric and other embellishments. The flicks went viral after celebrities like Taraji P. Henson and Tia Mowry raved about them on social media.

They started the project to inspire girls to love themselves and their hair.

“We have been photographing kids with natural hair for some time now. We still got those messages with parents saying ‘I show my daughters your page so they can love their natural hair,’” Kahran said. “Alot of times they go to school and they feel like their hair is not beautiful or they cover it up. We wanted to do a series that really showcases the beauty and versatility of Afro hair.”

The duo said they will search the nation for new models, ages 5 to 18, for the book. It will be divided into three sections: past, present and future.

The book will be released in 2019. Presale hasn't yet begun but you can subscribe to get notification via their website
