A second poster for the Luc Besson-produced, Olivier Megaton-directed, Zoe Saldana-starrer Colombiana, has arrived (the full poster is below – thanks to The Playlist), and, at first sight, I couldn’t help but be reminded of other similar flower-themed posters for films with women (black women specifically) as central characters.

Initially, I thought that maybe the same team at Lionsgate that works on marketing materials for Tyler Perry movies was the same group assigned to Colombiana; but I remembered that Colombia/Tristar will be releasing the Zoe Saldana revenge thriller, not Lionsgate.

Still, I wonder if they were inspired…? Now this has me wondering what other film posters have followed this flower motif, past and present. All you film poster buffs (I’m sure there’s at least one of you), get to work 🙂
