Don Cheadle’s new dark comedy TV series for the Showtime network, titled House Of Lies (based on the book House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time by Martin Kihn) now has an official debut date – Sunday, January 8th, 2012, at 10PM.

House Of Lies is described as a subversive, scathing look at a self-loathing management consultant from a top-tier firm. Cheadle stars as Marty, a highly successful, cutthroat consultant who will use any means (or anyone) necessary to get his clients the information that they want.

A pilot episode was shot in February, and, apparently, Showtime loved all they saw of it, enough to pick up the pilot and order 12 episodes of the series

Joining Cheadle in the cast are Heroes alum Dawn Olivieri, who will play Monica, Marty’s “crazy, pill-popping ex-wife and biggest professional competition, as her consulting firm is No.1, compared to Marty’s No. 2.”

Also, Glynn Turman, last seen in Burlesque and Takers, will co-star, although I’m still not sure what role he’ll play.

Cheadle also recently signed a 1-year first-look deal with Showtime, under which he and his producing partners will develop and executive produce series projects for the cable channel.

While we wait to see what other tricks he has up his sleeve, we’ve got 5 months until House of Lies premieres.

I’m intrigued.

Now let’s get see some footage Showtime…
