Update (August 15, 2021): After recently speaking out about experiencing homelessness, Dr. Dre’s daughter, LaTanya Young, has launched a GoFundMe page. She’s looking to raise $50,000.

“I think GoFundMe campaigns are for people in desperate situations and I’m in a desperate situation,” Young told The Daily Mail. “Some people were in awe of what I am going through and asked if I had a GoFundMe. I really don’t want to accept any handouts but I appreciate anything that is offered.”

The 38-year-old single mother said the funds will help her and her four children find a safe and stable home. Latanya, who has received over $3,770 in donations as of Sunday, said she is currently working for DoorDash to keep afloat.

Many of the people who have donated so far expressed sympathy for the single mother and wished her well.

“I see how hard you're trying and fighting depression most of your life, feeling like you're not wanted,” one person wrote. “You're wanted, you're loved, you're appreciated and you're 100 percent a woman. The good people will come to your help.”

Others also criticised Dr. Dre for failing to show up for his daughter.

“I know firsthand how it feels to be abandoned, neglected and indirectly disowned by a parent,” a donor wrote. “I know it'll make you a better parent. I don't have much to donate but I hope you reach your goal. I will pray that you and your beautiful four children will reach financial abundance, health and joy in this brutal world.”

The oldest daughter of the hip-hop producer recently revealed that she is living out of a rental car in Tarzana, California. She said she still has hope of reuniting with her father who she hasn’t seen in 18 years.

Original (August 5, 2021): Dr. Dre’s eldest daughter spoke out about experiencing homelessness despite numerous attempts to reach her father, DailyMail reported.

LaTanya Young revealed that she is living out of her car and has been working small jobs as a delivery driver for DoorDash and UberEats to make ends meet.

“I'm taking odd jobs just to make it now. I got paid $15 an hour as an assembler at the warehouse,'' she told the DailyMail. “I'm trying to keep my head above water. I've been in debt for a while.”

The 38-year-old also mentioned that she hasn’t spoken to her father in nearly a year and a half and hasn’t seen him for over 18 years, adding that she doesn’t even have his cellphone number and can only reach him via his communications team.

Young is a single mother who relocated from Nevada to California with her four children aged 3 to16 to find better employment opportunities but has yet to build the finances to help her secure housing.

“My kids are staying with friends – they are not living in the car, it's just me,” she said. “I have friends and family that will let us come back and forth but the majority of the time I'm living out of my car.”

Dr. Dre, whose real name is Andre Romelle Young, fathered LaTanya with ex-girlfriend Lisa Johnson. Currently, the 56-year-old is dealing with the aftermath of his latest divorce, where the court ordered him to pay ex-wife Nicole Young $300,000 a month for spousal support, XXL Mag reported

“I just heard that he has to pay $300k a month for spousal support. It's embarrassing because people are looking at me wondering: why?” LaTanya said. “What Nicole has got is what my mom should have got.”

The single mother also said she fears that the rental car she is living out of will soon be repossessed since she can’t keep up with the payments.

“The car is a pretty penny,” she shared. “It’s an SUV that costs $2,300 for three weeks and I only paid for one week. Sooner or later they are going to take the car.”

LaTanya revealed that her father, who is reportedly worth $800 million, has previously helped her with some finances in the past, but cut off payments in Jan. 2020.

“I honestly wrote a proposal and asked him if he could get a home for me and my sister and my kids,” she said. “His lawyer has said that my dad doesn’t want to help me because I’ve spoken about him in the press – I feel like I’m damned if I do, I’m damned if I don’t. He was supposed to put us through college and pay for our health insurance and he never did that.”

“My mom felt like he never upheld his end of the bargain,” she added.

LaTanya also said that despite everything, she commends her father’s now ex-wife for “doing what she had to.”

“I'm hearing about mistresses that he's [Dr. Dre] bought houses for. It's a messy situation,” LaTanya said.
