The man is everywhere, and constantly busy. No vacation breaks for Dwayne Johnson apparently.

He’s now signed up to star in a half-hour dramedy pilot for HBO which centers on the lives of retired athletes living in Miami. Johnson is a former athlete himself (he played college football, and, of course, was a WWF star, which helped launch his movie career).

The currently-untitled series will be executive produced by his Pain & Gain co-star Mark Wahlberg, with Stephen Levinson (Entourage) penning the script and executive producing as well.

Peter Berg will direct the pilot, which HBO is aiming to shoot in the fall.

In addition to this potential scripted series, Johnson is also hosting and producing an unscripted reality competition series for TNT, titled The Hero, in which 10 people live in a house and are put through various tasks that challenge their brains and brawn.

And let’s not forget the 15 to 20 big screen projects he’s attached to star in… this year alone, he stars in 3 different feature films – 2 have already been released; 1 is on the way.

It’s only a matter of time before we hear that Dwayne Johnson has an album coming out. He does sing and play instruments too, you know.
