It appears as though there may now be some bad blood between Latto and Florida A&M University (FAMU).

The situation goes back to the Tallahassee, Florida, HBCU making an Instagram post and revealing that Latto — along with City Girls — would be performing at its 2022 Homecoming Concert on Oct. 29, as Blavity previously reported.

The gworlz were clearly psyched for these artists to take the FAMU stage together, and everything appeared to be going smoothly up until earlier this week.

Just a few days ahead of FAMU’s 2022 Homecoming Concert, Latto shockingly alleged that — despite the advertising — the institution never officially booked her to perform at the event.

“Only addressing this to clear my name. I was never booked for FAMU hco,” she began in a Notes message that was uploaded to Twitter. “My team was contacted directly this morning and asked if we could work something out due to the third-party promoter falsely advertising me.”

“ME BEING UNDERSTANDING, I was willing to make it work even though I’m currently on tour. BUT since they brought incorrect info online, sabotaging my reputation, I’m gonna pass on the offer now,” Latto continued.

The “Big Energy” wrapped up her message by adding, “I NEVER want to disappoint my fans. I’m sorry to the students. I love y’all — thanks for understanding.”

Zachary Bell and Makira Burns — FAMU’s Student Body President and VP, respectively — issued a statement and alleged that, way back on Sept. 14, WRLD Entertainment officially booked both Latto and City Girls for the concert.

As one would imagine, people weren’t too pleased about the situation. Check out what some individuals had to say down below.

However, Latto didn’t appear to be too pressed about the matter.

While Latto won’t be attending the event, City Girls is still set to bring in some twerkable jams.

FAMU also revealed that Saucy Santana will perform at the homecoming concert as well, so it’ll definitely still be on and poppin’!
