Barrino-Taylor was recognized for both her community service and her contributions to the entertainment industry, according to WXII. It was also revealed that a street sign would be placed at Legacy Ridge Apartments, renaming the the street Fantasia Avenue.

She also made history, becoming the first person to be presented with a key to Guilford County. She shared the news on Instagram with a photo and a sentimental caption.

“Today This Happened…Today I realized how much I Miss my City ( High Point Nc) the place where I was born and raised, the place that taught me everything I know,” her caption read. “They showed up today and gave me a street name, highway signs, a key to our City, and for the first time ever a key to the County. It’s so much I want to say but I’m still in awe of all the Love and support from today. North Main get ready because we are about to Build.”

In November 2022, Sigma Gamma Rho inducted Barrino-Taylor as an honorary member, along with Alexis Jones, Yvonne Mcnair and Shawn Smith.
