Described as a modern-day indecent proposal, Lapdance, previously titled “Monica,” has just released its first clip. The film, which will screen this June at the American Black Film Festival in Miami, is directed by Gregory Carter, from a script by both Carter and Datari Turner; the latter is producting via his Datari Turner Productions, along with Gordon Bijelonic-Datari Turner Films and Imprint Entertainment.
Lapdance revolves around Monica (Ali Cobrin), an aspiring actress who “makes a pact with her fiance to take a job as an exotic dancer to care for her cancer-stricken father.”
The film’s lengthy cast list includes: Mariel Hemingway, James Remar, Lynn Whitfield, Omari Hardwick, Carmen Electra, Lisa Raye, Robert Hoffman, Briana Evigan, Nia Peoples, Datari Turner, Omar Gooding, Keith Robinson, Lew Temple, Stacey Dash, Obba Babatunde, Quinton Aaron, K.D. Aubert, Christian Keyes, Wesley Jonathan, Terrell “T.O.” Owens, Ron Jeremy, and Dennis White.
