Back by popular demand… or maybe I should say BLACK by popular demand… given our recent conversations with African American industry insiders, I thought it would be wise to revisit some immensely valuable past interviews that many of you who only recently discovered S&A likely missed.
Like this conversation I had almost exactly 1 year ago, with Tracey Edmonds, long-time producer, and president and chief operating officer of Our Stories Films Inc, the mini film production studio founded by Bob Johnson back in 2006.
Our Stories Films Inc is the company behind last year's Jumping The Broom by the way.
Tracey's other past production credits include Soul Food (both the movie and TV series), Hav Plenty, and several others.
In a live-cast "extra" session… I spoke for about 45 minutes to Ms Edmonds about a variety of matters, with the intent being to give listeners some idea of how the company operates, how it makes its decisions, the market forces that influence it and the decisions it makes, its direction at the time, and thoughts on the current film industry environment – all seen through the lens of a black-owned and operated film company.
You can listen to the conversation via the player below, or find it on iTunes HERE, where you can download and listen to it, or transfer it to your iPod or other portable device.
There's a treasure-trove of past S&A features that I'll continue to repost.
