Kendrick Lamar’s wrapping up a big year — he released his album "DAMN." earlier this year to critical and popular acclaim and scored a more than respectable seven Grammy nominations for his efforts.

As part of his victory lap, Kung Fu Kenny sat down with Howard Stern this week.

Compton’s favorite son had a lot to say, talking about how his father taught him “to see for yourself,” how his now boss Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith held the life of Lamar’s father in his hands back in the day, why he decided to work with Taylor Swift and how he has had an extraterrestrial encounter.

That’s right, like Yaphet Kotto, Lamar’s seen aliens.

The rapper says it happened when he was very young and saw “a dart go past” in the sky.

He actually told the story in more detail on JoJo Wright’s radio show a few years ago, when he revealed he’s also encountered ghosts.

“I’ve seen ghosts before, for sure,” Lamar said then. “I’ve seen UFOs, too. I seen that when I was six-years-old, my mother still don’t believe me.”

His mother was actually there, Lamar explained, “We was in Compton, we was on our little balcony on the stairway, she was sitting, drinking her little champagne or wine, I’ll never forget it.”

What did he see, exactly?

“Just a dart — a flash, just cho-cho-cho-chup, not the flash like it’s a shooting star, multiple flashes was in the sky.”

Lamar told Stern that there was something about that sight that, despite his lyric dexterity, he still “can’t really describe, because it just sounds like, ‘Okay, you just saw a dart go past.’”

The rapper says that while he understands people’s skepticism, he knows what he saw.

“Nobody believed me then, and [nobody] believe me now,” he said. “I’m going to stand my ground on this.”

Lamar might take some solace in knowing that his experience is actually similar to the experiences Kotto spoke about earlier this year.

The actor would often see lights accompanied by “a circle of what looked like smoke” that “sure as hell didn’t look like clouds.”

Kotto said that he’s encountered aliens face-to-face. Lamar suggested that he might have as well, and joked that extraterrestrials might be the true source of his MC powers.

“I probably did,” Lamar said when asked if he’d been abducted. “That’s probably why I’m doing music right now … they probably gave me the energy.”

All in all, Lamar didn’t really seem to care if Stern or anyone else believes him. “That sh*t don’t make sense, he said. “It was just a surreal moment.”
