Two Las Vegas women are recovering following a random stabbing attack many are comparing to the Oakland transit attack that claimed 18-year-old Nia Wilson's life.

Stabbing survivor Robin Woodfin was attacked by a white man while riding the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) bus Friday afternoon, reports ABC 13. She told the news outlet that during the trip, she felt an arm go around her neck.

"Next thing I know I got maybe a quarter of a block to the bus and I felt an arm around my neck and something going in my throat," Woodfin said.

Woodfin got off the bus and got help as she suffered from her wounds. The man identified as 38-year-old Caleb R. Hill did not stop. He got off the bus and found another woman, who has not been identified, and placed her in a chokehold and also stabbed her in the neck.

Many are comparing this attack to the attack of Nia Wilson, who was on her way home from a family event in late July when she and her sister, Letifah, were stabbed in the neck by a white man at a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) transit station. Nia died from her wounds while Letifah was left critically injured.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police claim the stabbings were random acts. Officers Keith Hannof and Beaumont Hopson approached Hill, who was still armed with a knife at the time. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Hill did not comply with officers' demands.

He continued to pose a threat to them and others, yet police used a taser and a low-lethal shotgun to attempt to subdue him. After those items failed to do the job, one of the officers on the scene fired at the suspect.

Hill survived the shooting and was transported to nearby hospital UMC Trauma where the victims were also transported. According to Woodfin, the suspect was in a bed near the two women. The other victim asked hospital staff to relocate Hill to prevent further harm.

Fox 5 Vegas reports authorities are still searching for a motive for the attacks.

Hill has been booked on two counts of attempted murder and another count of resisting an officer with a weapon that isn't a gun.
