Ice Spice, an up-and-coming rapper from the Bronx, recently went viral thanks to her first hit song: “Munch (Feelin’ U).” But what exactly is the track all about?

“Munch (Feelin U)” dropped back in early August, and audiences appeared to be immediately captivated by the song’s catchy chorus: “You thought I was feelin’ you? / That n***a a munch / N***a a eater, he ate it for lunch / B***h, I’m a baddie, I get what I want.”

Considering these lyrics, we can decipher that a “munch” is a sexual partner who solely performs oral sex and doesn’t penetrate, and Genius‘s analysis of the anthem backs this up.

“‘Munch’ is New York slang meaning to perform oral sex on a woman. Similarly, an ‘eater’ is a person who performs a lot of oral sex,” according to Genius. “Spice invokes the stigma that performing cunnilingus is ’emasculating’ for men, stating that men are prepared to embarrass themselves in order to be with her for a fleeting moment.”

With the message behind the song, many have been chirping about Ice Spice and “Munch (Feelin’ U)” online.

Notably, once she started promoting “Munch (Feelin’ U)” on social media, Ice Spice caught the attention of the one and only Aubrey Drake Graham, who praised the track and even featured it on OVO Sound Radio.

“That ‘Munch’ and your ‘On The Radar’ freestyle hard,” Drake messaged Ice Spice, giving a shoutout to her breakout single as well as a freestyle she delivered earlier this year. “Imma play em on our radio show.”

Drake also took the initiative to fly Ice Spice to Toronto with him, as they were spotted at a concert together.

This has led some to speculate that Drake himself may potentially be a “munch.” However, it appears as if he’s trying to show his support for Ice Spice, who was reportedly inspired to begin rapping by Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, according to her Genius “About” section.

Shoutout to Ice Spice, and do you self-identify as a “munch?”
