nullNot a surprise at all. After all, the first film was also rated R by the MPAA. I’d actually be concerned if the upcoming sequel was rated PG13 or G, or one of those kid-friendly ratings.

The MPAA says to expect “language, sexual content and brief nudity.

It’s for grown folks, as the saying goes.

Malcolm D. Lee’s sequel to The Best Man, titled The Best Man Holiday, sees the return of the stars from the first film, including Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Harold PerrineauTerrence Howard, Sanaa LathanMonica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa and Regina Hall, all reprising their roles in a story that is set 15 years after the original.

The story:

When the college friends finally reunite over the Christmas holidays, 15 years after the first film, they will discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be ignited.

Universal Pictures has set the release date for the sequel for November 15, 2013, in what will be a crowded fall for black films.

But based on all the excitement over it, I’m going to guess that this is going to be a box office hit – certainly one of this year’s highest-grossing black films. It may even cross the coveted $100 million mark that Think Like Man just missed.
