Mary J. Blige's divorce continues to dampen the legend's career and ruin her finances.

Documents obtained by The Blast pertaining to Blige's divorce revealed that she netted no income for her Oscar-nominated performance in Mudbound and her work on “Mighty River," the lead single from the film's soundtrack. Her work in director Dee Rees' Netflix drama has garnered Blige Oscar acclaim with Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Song nominations.

Since 2016, Blige and ex-husband Kendu Isaacs have been locked in a bitter divorce partly because of the large sum of spousal support she has had to pay. Blige's recent work has netted little income because of her expenses and a reported $12 million debt accrued during her marriage. Her debt overall has been estimated to be $25 million mostly in advances.

According to The Blast, Blige has stated that she makes most of her money from touring, but she is a legacy artist and "there is no market for her to embark on a major world tour every year.”

In June 2017, she was ordered to pay $30,000 each month in temporary spousal support since Isaacs was also fired as her manager. She reportedly said that Isaacs treats her as a personal bank because he claims to be "unemployable." Blige does not own her music catalog, so financial issues continue to pile up.

“I’m living. I’m not happy about a lot of things," she confessed in an interview with Variety. "I thought someone loved me, right? Turns out, he was a con artist and he didn’t, and now he’s coming after me for all my money. When you come out of something like that, you realize you were never the one. There was someone else that was his queen. I got played. I got suckered."

Blige and Isaacs will appear in court this month.
