Saturday Night Live once again took shots at Democratic candidates, opening their Christmas episode with a play on the latest Democratic debate

Despite having already dropped out, Maya Rudolph reprised the role of Sen. Kamala Harris by stepping in stage to interrupt an Andrew Yang line with a martini in hand.

“I just wanted to show you how could you could have had it America," Rudolph said, in character as Harris — the California senator. "You withheld your donations and I got tired of waiting. So I walked my fine ass out the door. You coulda had a bad bitch!"

The line, quoting from Lizzo's hit song "Truth Hurts," brought a reaction from the crowd as the episode hosted by Eddie Murphy had the singer slated as the musical guest.

The California senator had withdrawn earlier in the month, citing fundraising issues with multiple self funding billionaires entered into the field.

"I’m not a billionaire. I can’t fund my own campaign. And as the campaign has gone on, it’s become harder and harder to raise the money we need to compete," Harris said in her self-published Medium article.

The impression also ushered reactions from the Harris family, with both her niece and husband sharing thoughts on Twitter.

The SNL open never particularly went for the realism of the actual events of the debate, with many other candidates making surprise appearances on stage. Fred Armisen came out as Michael Bloomberg, Cecily Strong took on Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Alec Baldwin was a surprise backstage as President Donald Trump, and Kate McKinnon made a change from her character as Sen. Elizabeth Warren to come out as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The episode marked the return of SNL legend Eddie Murphy, his first appearance on the show in 35 years. Throughout the episode, Murphy brought back many of his classic characters from his original stint on the show.
