Mr. T, instantly recognizable to fans for his Mohawk, gold chains and his iconic role as Sergeant Bosco "B. A." Baracus in the television series "The A-Team," will smash outdated spaces to give families beautifully remodeled rooms in the new DIY Network offering, "I Pity the Tool."
The show joins a roster of celebrity-focused, renovation-themed series on the network, including "The Vanilla Ice Project" (Vanilla Ice), "Daryl’s Restoration Over-Hall" (Daryl Hall), "The Shatner Project" (William Shatner) and "Rev Run’s Renovation" (Rev Run from Run DMC).
"Before I worked in show business, I worked in the demolition business," said Mr. T. "And even after I made it in Hollywood, I kept on building things."
In "I Pity the Tool," nothing gets in Mr. T’s way. Outdated houses are no match for him, his arsenal of tools and his construction team of tough guys. In each episode, he and his team, which includes HGTV Design Star winner and interior designer Tiffany Brooks, break down walls and tear out old rooms to give a family a hefty home makeover.
The show is slated to premiere in 2015.
"We’re hooking up homeowners who need help with their renovations," said Mr. T. "I’m tired of all this jibber jabber – we’re out here getting things done, working hard, demolishing the old and rebuilding the new."
