Nate Parker is "in talks" to join Samuel L. Jackson, Josh Brolin, Sharlto Copley and Elizabeth Olsen in Spike Lee's Oldboy.
If all goes well, Parker will play a doctor who works with Olsen's character.
I can't recall that specific role in Park Chan-wook's 2003 film, nor in the graphic novel I read, so it's either a newly-created part, or a peripheral one (or both).
Lee is directing from a script penned by Mark Protosevich, who will also co-produce, along with Roy Lee, Doug Davison and Nathan Kahane of Good Universe.
This would be a reunion for Parker and Lee; Nate co-starred in Spike's Red Hook Summer, which is currently in theaters.
He'll next be seen with Richard Gere in Nicholas Jarecki's Arbitrage, which opens September 14.
