Nigerian Afropop star Yemi Alade recently made history by becoming the first female African artist to hit one million subscribers on YouTube.

The 30-year-old is breaking down barriers for other female artists by taking the music business by storm. Konbini reports Alade joins P-Square, Davido and Diamond Platnumz who've all reached over a million subscribers.

The news became official during the last week of June. "God is the GREATEST, started this journey six years ago," Alade wrote on Instagram. "Thanks to everyone streaming/watching my videos and music. God bless us all."

Over the course of her six-year career, she rose up the charts due to bangers like "Johnny." The visual for "Johnny" hit 100 million views on YouTube earlier this year, breaking another record.

The self-proclaimed "Woman of Steel" has come a long way since getting her start on the hit show, Peak Talent Show, in 2009.

According to OkayAfrica, visuals have played a vital part in her success. Her top videos are "Kissing" feat. Marvin, "Ghen Ghen Love," Bamboo," "Na Gode" feat. Selebobo and "Ferrari."

She's released three studio albums and 24 hit singles. Her upcoming album entitled Woman of Steel is set to be released later this year.

Until you get your hands on the album, her single "Bounce" is here to tingle those eardrums. Check out the visual below.
