Nipsey Hussle's longtime bodyguard took to Instagram to announce his retirement after the rapper was fatally shot outside his South L.A. clothing store.

On Tuesday, J-Roc The Bodyguard told his followers he would no longer work as security personnel after his friend's passing.

"Never in a million years, I thought I would be writing some s**t like this," he wrote. "… We haven’t made a 100 Million yet … We was suppose [sic] to grow old and I call u big nose shoot jokes on you all day… But instead, I’m here in tears writing this I wish I was there I would switch places with you any day. The world need you here. I’m so confused, lost, hurt. I lost a brother, best friend, a mentor…"

The 33-year-old rapper was gunned down outside of his Marathon Clothing store on Sunday.

According to The Daily Beast, Hussle, born Ermias Davidson Asghedom, made an impromptu stop at the shop to pick up some new clothes for a friend. The rapper did not inform J-Roc about the stop, leaving him vulnerable and unguarded.

A longtime friend was reportedly released from prison after serving 20 years and needed some new clothing to meet family members, Page Six reports. The friend and his cousin were the other two men caught in the crossfire

Authorities named 29-year-old Eric Holder as the suspected gunman. Holder and Hussle allegedly exchanged words before the incident. Investigators believe the shooting was personal.
