The Hollywood Reporter has the exclusive on Robin Thicke making his directorial debut with a short film titled Mercy, which will co-star his wife, Paula Patton, Amandla Stenberg, and Robert Patrick.
Thicke also penned the script for the film, in which he stars as well, in a story that’s said to be based on a real-life events.
Here’s the description:
Mercy follows Tom, a family-focused limo driver, and his wife, Cynthia, a woman who is plagued by alcohol and drug addiction.
Thicke plays Tom, the limo driver; Patton plays his alcohol and drug-addicted wife; Stenberg plays their daughter, a talented violinist; and Patrick plays a man on the verge of losing his home after cancer claims his wife. Stenberg’s character was a former student of his dying wife.
The film, produced by Mick Partridge, with Thicke and Jordan Feldstein executive producing, was shot in LA earlier this year, although no ETA yet on when and where it’ll debut.
