VH1’s CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, which premiered 2 Mondays ago, on October 21ranks as the #1 cable original movie of the year among Adults and Women 18-49. The biopic is also VH1’s highest-rated original movie ever, with a total of 4.5 million viewers tuning in to watch during its 9 pm premiere time.

And thanks to the movie’s success, TLC’s new soundtrack for the film, 20 from Epic Records, jumped from #43 to #5 on the iTunes overall chart that week, and jumped to #1 on the iTunes R&B chart.

All wonderful news for those involved in the making of the film – except for Perri ‘Pebbles‘ Reid, who was played by  Rochelle Aytes in the movie.

Reid took to her personal website today to publish the below statement, expressing her disgust with the movie, claiming that it contains “many false and defamatory statements and scenes,” adding that her attorney is in the process of demanding a retraction from VH1.

She apologizes for not speaking out against the film earlier, claiming to be a private person, who needed to spend time with her family, reflect on the film and gather her thoughts before expressing them publicly.

And now she has, further calling the film, “an unprovoked attack!”

I still haven’t seen CrazySexyCool (although I will eventually), so I can’t comment on what exactly she’s claiming to be defamatory; specifically, in the statement, she emphasizes that she’s never cheated or mislead anyone. I suppose the film must have suggested that she did.

Her full statement is embedded below. I don’t follow her on Twitter, but apparently, she’s been commenting on this unofficially, and this is supposed to be her first official statement.

If you’re like me and you haven’t seen the movie either, you should know that it’ll air again next week TuesdayNovember 5 at 4pm ET/PT.

Here’s the statement from Pebbles:
