Tracey Edmonds and Basketball Wives star Shaunie O'Neal (ex-wife of Shaquille O'Nealhave sold a pitch to Fox Searchlight for an untitled project that will be penned by Jumping The Broom co-writer Elizabeth Hunter.

The project, loosely inspired by the lives of Shaunie O'Neal and her friends, is described as follows:

Centers around a young woman who follows her boyfriend to Miami after he gets drafted into the NBA. Thrust into the world of professional sports, she meets and learns from the sisterhood of players' wives and learns from their trials and tribulations.

"The beauty of a feature film is that we'll have the ability to dig much deeper into the stories and characters that come from this very colorful world and create a very juicy action packed narrative," Tracey Edmonds told Variety.

Both she and O'Neal will co-produce the feature film, under Edmonds' Our Stories Films Inc production company, with Glendon Palmer and Phil Robinson as exec producers.

I can see the attraction to this project actually; the success of the Wives franchise of TV series particularly. And I don't think any of them has yet to receive scripted big screen treatment.

No word on when we can expect to see this. But it's on my watch list.
