Earlier this year, we introduced you to North Carolina-based musician Ace Henderson who discussed his upcoming EP, free: nights & weekends, and talked about keeping his personal life together while juggling his professional career.
In anticipation of the EP's October release, Henderson has shared his latest video for his song "Push," ft. Yasminah.
Shot home video style, Henderson takes you on a day-in-the-life journey as his melodic and introspective crooning caresses your senses.
The visuals take us through a park, a house party and a street, all of the scenes possessed of a nostalgic feel, matching the song's words "Pushing me back and I go/Pushing me back and I stay."
Henderson says the EP as a whole "was inspired by the clarity we search for in the moments we have alone or with loved ones. We all want to find love or freedom, but loving yourself is the most liberating experience ever. It's a process, and you'll have to make progress by accepting yourself. That's the only way."
He goes on to dive deep into his own vulnerability, noting, "For a while, I hated myself, and that made my relationships with people come to a screeching halt or just overall unpleasant. The spiral on the EP cover is a testament to the wormhole of doubt that we get sucked into when we allow ourselves to be defined by our past. Look up! You're not alone."
And with Henderson's upcoming EP, you certainly won't feel alone. Henderson's free: nights & weekends is set for official release in October.
