These Senate Intelligence Committee hearings are becoming like House of Cards in real life!

Attorney General Jeff Sessions appeared before Congress for his Senate Intelligence Committee hearing today, with the focus of course being Russia’s involvement in last year’s election.

"The attorney general has requested that this hearing be public," said spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores, via NPR. "He believes it is important for the American people to hear the truth directly from him and looks forward to answering the committee's questions."

The real-life drama quickly proved crazier than fiction, especially as Senator Kamala Harris took her turn for questioning. Everyone had their eye on the California senator after she was repeatedly shushed last week, and after she came hard after Comey. 

The back-and-forth between the two was definitely a climactic moment as Harris drilled Sessions with questions, not letting him off easy. Sessions, in turn, laughed at her and accused her of going too fast and not allowing him to “qualify” his statements.

Despite Sessions' constant claims that he didn't remember, Senator Harris didn't back down and remained firm during the questioning. She also doubled-down via Twitter:

Senator Harris was a proponent of transparency across the board today, even criticizing Republican Senators for trying to pass rules that allowed them to hide from the press, per Politicus USA. She further encouraged Americans to call their respective senators so that the Republican health care plan be made public.
