As we inch closer and closer to Feb. 14, couples all around the world are gearing up to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Truly a holiday as old as time, it comes as no surprise that our romance-oriented friends put so much thought and effort into making sure it runs as smoothly as possible for their significant others. Now, where does that leave those of us who are single and ready to mingle? Look no further, there’s already a day for us — Feb. 15, otherwise known as Singles Awareness Day. Unfortunately, there are still many people who feel that not having a romantic relationship is synonymous with misery, and that just isn’t the case. Many individuals celebrate this day as a way to empower themselves, not wallow in self-deprecating behavior.
