I haven’t been the only one saying it, but the general opinion is that Justin Timberlake
is NOT a movie star.

All his films have flopped, he’s got a weak voice and no screen
presence. As I said about him before, on this very site, that a loaf of Wonder Bread has more on screen personality (and more flavor) than Timberlake. Which
is why when the Hollywood Reporter announced this news, I was, how shall we say
we say, rather distressed.

But THR is reporting that Spike Lee is currently in talks to direct the indie project Spinning Gold, a biopic of Neil Bogart, the founder of Casablanca Records  and who who helped discover major 70’s rock
and disco acts such as  KISS, The Village People, Joan Jett  and Donna
Summer before his death at the age of 39 in 1982.

Timberlake will play Bogart in the film, which was written
by Bogart’s son Timothy Scott Bogart, and who is also co-producing the
film with Timberlake, Laurence Mark,
Gary Randall, and Mark Damon.

Sony
Pictures Worldwide already has a deal to distribute the film in several
overseas markets.

Actually this premise sounds promising, but with
Timberlake?

I’ll ask it again, just what incriminating photos of film
executives does he have that forces them to keep casting him as a lead, carrying films?
