Rapper T.I. took to Instagram on Friday morning to address his son, King Harris’, recent run-in with the law and criticism he’s been receiving from fans regarding the way he parents his children.

Earlier this week, the newly turned 18-year-old son of entertainers T.I. and Tiny shared a mugshot on Instagram to reveal he had been pulled over by law enforcement, and for reasons unknown, was arrested and taken into police custody. He didn’t seem bothered by the arrest but, upon his release, he made a video directed to his haters who suggested that he was trying to be “gangsta.”

“Everybody that’s saying, ‘N***a tryna be gangsta,’ n***a I ain’t ask for the police to pull me over, y’all b***h-ass n***as,” he said. “Another thing! When was it said that gangstas have to do this with police? Y’all stop this s**t,” he added. “Gangsta or not, Black or white or not, it don’t matter. The police pull ya ass over, you’re pulled over. You ain’t gotta be gangsta.”

On video, Harris continued to discuss the situation, in which he says police slapped him with “four charges.” A female passenger can be heard saying, “I got one for not wearing a seatbelt.”

He took it a step further when he posted a photo with his middle finger and the caption, “I’m bacc F**K 12!!! WILD BEAST.”

This morning, in a three-minute video on Instagram, T.I. decided to share his thoughts and bite back at trolls commenting about the way he runs his household. He started his video by questioning spectators.

“I got a minor request. Stop hitting me and getting in my comments telling me what to tell King,” the 41-year-old said. “I know my son. You think I ain’t spoke to my son?”

As the video continued, for anyone questioning how he parents, he mentioned that he’s already talked to his son about his choices and he’s “made his peace with it” because there’s only one person that can change the path he’s on, and that’s King.

“His a*s going to prison if he got damn keeps this s**t up. Ain’t no way around it,” he continued. “Ain’t nothing I’m going to be able to do about it. Can’t nobody stop it but him.”

T.I. shares that, as a father and former man of the streets, he’s been there before.

“I know that energy. I was that energy, I know exactly how it’s going to turn out,” he explained. “I’ve already had that conversation with him. King’s a good kid chasing after the wrong s**t.”

He closed out the video by sharing his thoughts on the mistakes young people make and grow from.

“I know who he is at his core. He’s trying to convince himself of things as we all do as young men and even young women growing up. Trying to convince ourselves that we are certain things, and in that journey, we find out exactly who the f**k we really is,” he said. “It happens when we least expect it.”
