With every failure comes a lesson, and T-Pain is ready to admit he took a major L.
On Tuesday, the famed rapper and producer announced the cancellation of his upcoming “1UP DLC Tour” due to lackluster ticket sales. However, he’s not running from the criticism, CNN Entertainment reported.
“Some things got cut, some corners got cut, production went missing, and you know, I wasn't as hands-on with the planning and things as I should've been because I've been busy as hell,” he said in his Instagram video.
The Tallahassee artist added he misjudged the hype around the tour. Rejecting the advice he received from his team, T-Pain gave his followers the real reason behind him pulling the tour.
“Most artists lie,” he revealed. “Whenever concerts get canceled or tour get canceled, it’s for low ticket sales. It ain’t really about whatever the f***ing reason they say.”
He also added a positive spin on the matter by saying, “You can't hold on to a mistake just ‘cause you spent a long time making it.”
After T-Pain shared the news on Instagram, fans shared their support for his honesty.
T-Pain said I’m not Big Sean or Nicki. I’m not gon lie to y’all about why my tour got canceled. Salute ✊🏾— Ice 🏁 (@OfficiallyIce) October 22, 2019
Other fans blame his marketing team.
Looks like most people didn't even know he was going on tour. His marketing team messed up & it's sad to see. T-Pain is a Legend regardless ❤ https://t.co/JCFX0joeWU— ☆Champagne_Mami_Gloriana♪☆🍸 (@saucy_marie) October 24, 2019
I think we all agree that we would show up to a T-Pain show in a heartbeat. The questions is... who tf is his team? I didn’t even know he was going on tour. https://t.co/fnX19kQof9— B. Soul (@brianafennell) October 23, 2019
I’m highkey mad as fuck about this. Not one time did I, or apparently anyone else for that matter, hear anything about a T-Pain tour. I promise I would’ve gotten tickets for every show in Cali. NorCal & SoCal. tf https://t.co/AEAdALlZzH— niarichelley (@N1ARICHELLEY) October 23, 2019

And some Twitter folks think he should go on tour, anyways.

His last tour sold out. And even the one before that. It’s not that no one wants to go. It’s that his team didn’t have it together. I go to a lot of concerts , to the point where I get notifications 25/8. I never got anything about T-Pain going on tour again. At all https://t.co/lMEjD5W3pn— ❄️NaNizzle❄️ (@Nahjia_) October 23, 2019
T-PAIN RUN THAT TOUR BACK I WANNA GO 🗣— Leaux ✨ (@Leauxmaria) October 23, 2019
The tour was reportedly set to kick off in Philadelphia. T-Pain, who reigned supreme during The Masked Singer last season, announced in April he was taking a break from music to avoid permanent vocal damage.
Even though he's called off his tour, we can't wait to see what's in store for T-Pain in the future.
