In June, Tambay posted that Thandie Newton was set to star in the first West End revival of Death and the Maiden.

A recent visit to the website revealed that it’s been updated with a new poster as well as the official start dates of the production.

Death and the Maiden centers on Paulina, a woman once held as a political prisoner. 15 years after the horrific experience, she and her husband are visited by a man Paulina is convinced is her captor.

Newton stars as Paulina, the same role that Sigourney Weaver played in the 1994 film version of Maiden, directed by Roman Polanski.

Below, see a clip of Newton in a recent interview with BBC discussing the play and how she felt making the transition from screen to stage.

Previews are scheduled to begin October 13th – 22nd at London’s Harold Pinter Theatre, with the official run from October 24th – January 21st.
