There’s really no other reason to write about this, except that it’s
inspiring, fun and totally awesome, so why not?

Last Sunday, Nov.
3, marked the beginning of Diwali,
the annual five-day Hindu Festival of Lights, which is not only an
official holiday in India, but in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Mauritius,
Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore and Fiji
as
well.

The day is usually celebrated by families performing traditional activities together in their homes. And in honor of that, the
First Lady Michelle Obama today
hosted a Diwali celebration, along with a Bollywood
dance clinic in the White House, with
local school students.

At the celebration, Mrs. Obama was quoted as saying: “When
we say that we want to make the White House the ‘people’s house, we mean all
people. We want to honor and embrace all of the many cultures and faith
traditions that make us who we are as Americans. And Diwali is very much one of
those traditions.

Looks like a scene form a Bollywood film, doesn’t it?
