One video of the student choir at Baltimore's Cardinal Shehan School is making its way around social media, and for good reason. The students singing their rendition of "Rise Up" by Andra Day will give you chills. Harmoniously beautiful, the song choice seems a reflection of all that is going on in the world. Despite any negativity that may be affecting us, beautiful moments like these add light  to our day and testify to our resilience.

According to the Baltimore Sun, choir director Kenyatta Hardison simply wanted to broadcast the progress her young singers at Cardinal Shehan School had made on the Andra Day song “Rise Up.” She had no idea that it would go viral.

“During the rehearsal, I added a few parts to it, and then I said, ‘Let me just go live with it,’ just so the parents could see,” Hardison said. “When I pushed ‘Live,’ it just changed. These kids were changing the hearts in the world.”

After being picked up by ChoirBuzz, a choral-focused Facebook page, the video has over 5.3 Million views from that page so far.

“We got calls from people in the hospital with their cancer treatment about how the kids just gave them hope,” said Hardison. “You had people from Argentina, Puerto Rico, Texas, even from Baltimore City, all over — just heartwarming messages that the kids just inspire them.”

Take a moment out of your day to enjoy these beautiful voices.
