This should please fans of his show…

I haven’t been a regular watcher of W. Kamau Bell’s series on FX; I did watch a few of the early episodes, and wasn’t immediately hooked on his style. And with so much else competing for my time, I never really returned to it.

I’ve caught a few clips from the show here and there, usually when friends share on Facebook or Twitter share. And I’d say that I probably appreciate his interview segments with guests more than his stand-up routine.
But no matter, I’m happy for the brotha, and glad to see that the show continues to blossom, and attract attention. And a hat-tip to Chris Rock for giving him a chance.
I’ll start to work my way back into the series, especially in light of recent news that FX promoted the show from a weekly to a nightly series on its spin-off network, FXX, scheduled to launch this fall, and also, today’s news that the series scored its best ratings ever on May 30.
When it returns this fall to a nightly program, it’ll be going directly up against The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, at 11pm, every night.
The ratings details via press release from FX:

In spite of going head-to-head with the NBA Playoffs Eastern Conference Finals, and post-game coverage on May 30, TOTALLY BIASED with W. KAMAU BELL scored its best ratings yet.

· Totally Biased delivered Series Highs in Total Viewers (577,000) and Women 18-49 (178,000)

· Notched its Second Most-Watched Telecast Ever Among Adults 18-49, Men 18-49 and ALL Key 25-54 demos

· Week-to-week, Totally Biased vaulted to new heights, showing double-digit growth in all key demos:

On this week’s all-new Totally Biased (Thursday, June 6 @ 11pm), Kamau welcomes journalist and author Alison Stewart as his guest.

This summer, W. Kamau Bell and writers from Totally Biased will unleash the 10-city Totally Biased Stand Up Tour with W. Kamau Bell, a prelude to the September unveiling of Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell as a nightly strip on the new channel, FXX.
