The independent short film The Will To Want, helmed by emerging filmmaker Temilolu Tokosi, will hold a special screening this Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3, hosted by B.L.V.D. Filmmworks at Brooklyn’s reRun Theater in NYC.
Described as “a universal story of redemption and determination that speaks to the epitome of the human spirit,” The Will To Want follows high school senior Nii Sowah, who is determined to make this year’s basketball team, after being cut during last year’s tryouts.
Here’s more about the film:
With the help of his best friend, Ben, Nii is confident in his abilities this time around. However, memories from last year’s tryout still haunt him, and the pressure to give up on his dream causes Nii to question his ambition. The Will To Want will make you ask your self, how bad do you want it?
The screening of the film will be followed by a Q&A with the director, who was inspired by his love for the game of basketball, and the memory of his late father.
The film stars Omar Salmon and Usman Ojibara.
