Featuring a premiere cast of actors like Denzel Washington, Samuel L. Jackson and Phylicia Rashad, Viola Davis, Anthony Mackie, Jasmine Guy and others, director Kenny Leon's The Start of Dreams is the story of the award-winning director bringing aspiring teenage actors to a Broadway stage in an intense monologue competition.

In an era in which funding for arts education is being cut, thanks to a declining economy, Leon is determined to use his celebrity and influence to expose kids across the country to the wonderful world of theater, using August Wilson's material as inspiration.

The Start of Dreams features many of Hollywood's elite who have worked in theater speaking on the importance of the art form and what it means to humanity.

Directed by The Horne Brothers, the film is now touring festivals. It'll next screen on February 18th at 12 noon, at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles at Rave Cinemas Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza 15.

The screening will be followed by a brief program featuring the filmmakers, Senator Curren D. Price, Jr., Kenny Leon and friends.
