Viola Davis is on the move…!

We already know about the production company she recently created with her husband, which will has begun work acquiring the rights to its first project – an adaptation of The Personal History of Rachel DuPree, a 2008 title written by Ann Weisgarber.

Following up with that post in which the formation of her production company was announce a couple of weeks ago, and also in which there was mention of an HBO development deal for a series about a headmaster of ambiguous moral character at a San Francisco private school, comes word that the actress is moving full speed ahead with that latter project, with Pariah writer/director Dee Rees (no stranger to this S&A either) in the writer/director’s chair.

The new series will “look at the corruption of a city through the eyes of the headmaster of an exclusive prep school who has her eye on bigger things.

Viola, as already noted, will play the headmaster, while Dee Rees is writing the script with veteran HBO producer Margaret Nagle.

Davis will also produce, with Rees serving as a co-exec producer.

Deals are reportedly being finalized at the moment, so stay tuned. Let’s hope it all comes together!
