nullWe have profiled director Mariette Monpierre's poignant film Elza here on S & A several times already, including an interview I did with her recently that you can read HERE.

The film will have its big New York premiere tonight at the MIST Harlem Cinemas, to be followed by a cocktail reception with Mariette.

The film will then officially open tomorrow, Nov. 30th, for a special two-week engagement at the MIST Cinemas, and just last week, played at the Afro Carioca Film Festival in Rio De Janeiro.

But recently, to continue to get the word out about Elza, Mariette taped an extended 7-minute video in which she talks about her growing up in her native Guadeloupe, how she fell in love with movies, her film, how her personal experiences were the inspiration for it, and and her life in general.
