A sign of the times… did you miss the YouTube Upfronts?

Here's your first look at the dark, futuristic web series titled previously titled The 117, and now apparently called DR0NE with an intentional zero, not the letter "O."

The new web series will be broadcast on the YouTube channel You Offend Me, You Offend My Family, which Fast Five's Justin Lin is shepherding.

DR0NE centers on robots that are designed and programmed by humans to be superior soldiers, and that have become part of the U.S. military.

Reddick's starring character is described as the "ruthless commander of the drone army assigned to deploy and keep the drones in line as they head off to execute missions against enemy territories. One drone goes rogue, prompting Reddick and his team to search for it."

The new series, co-produced by Clark Baker and Robert Glickert, is being directed by Glickert, from his own script.

Justin Lin is executive producer, while Reddick and his manager Steven Adams are serving as co-producers.

As announced back in March, Reddick formed a production company called Christai Productions, along with Adams, with the goal being to develop story-driven film and television projects with juicy lead characters that will attract talent and are a little "outside the box" but with "a sharp eye to genre and budget."

We can assume this new series is all part of that plan.

The 1-minute teaser doesn't show Reddick (mostly Drones it seems), but I assume we'll eventually get a full trailer that reveals much more. It's scheduled for an August debut.
