The Hollywood Black Film Festival is just around the corner (October 27- October 30) and Kenya Boys, an inspiring documentary following a dance troupe from the slums of Nairobi, will be screening there.

Directed by Alvin Shen and Harold Escote, the film description states…”Five Kenyan high school boys living in the second largest slum in all of Kenya band together as a hip hop dance crew to try and audition for Kenya’s version of ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ inspired reality show. Facing extreme odds, a near fatal car accident, and despite being the youngest dance team, the boys attempt to dance their way to the top.”

Appearing in this David and Goliath underdog flick are Joseph Njorge, John Wamai, Solmon N’dungu, Michael Likulu, Douglas Engoro, Ali Abdi and Francis Irungu.
