Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will soon face off in their first presidential debate. Here's what you need to know.
Mark your calendars! The first debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will take place on Sept. 10, at 9 p.m. ET. The debate will last for 90 minutes.
It will take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, which has hosted many significant events in American political history.
ABC News anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis will moderate. Both are seasoned journalists who have experience with presidential primary debates.
The debate will be broadcast live on ABC and streamed on multiple platforms, including ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu.
The debate will feature no opening statements, and each candidate will have two minutes to respond to questions.
Candidates will be allowed only a pen, paper pad and water bottle. Pre-written notes and props will be strictly prohibited.
Microphones will be muted while the other candidate is speaking. This rule is designed to minimize interruptions and provide clear, uninterrupted answers.
There will be no live audience, allowing the debate to focus entirely on the candidates and their exchanges without audience reactions.
With Election Day approaching, the first debate between Harris and Trump will be a defining moment in the 2024 presidential race.
