Before Sean "Diddy” Combs was wrapped up in his widely publicized legal troubles, he was regarded as one of the most successful music moguls who helped shape hip hop.
Diddy’s career began as an intern at Uptown Records in 1990. He worked closely with Andre Harrell, the founder of the label, who acted as a mentor.
Over time, he climbed the ranks leading him to help develop the careers of artists, such as Jodeci and Mary J. Blige.
He then went on to establish Bad Boy Records where he brought along one of his biggest acts, the Notorious B.I.G., who also went by Biggie Smalls.
Diddy also had success as an artist, using his original moniker "Puff Daddy" to reach the charts.
In addition to topping the charts, Diddy proved himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the business world.
In his personal life, he engaged in high profile romantic relationships, dating Jennifer Lopez, Cassie Ventura and Kim Porter.
Amid all of Diddy's success, he found himself in legal trouble more than once. In 2023, his ex-girlfriend, Cassie accused him of physical abuse in a lawsuit.
This seemingly opened the floodgates, with countless lawsuits filing in, accusing Diddy of sexual abuse.
In September 2024, the investigation into the many allegations led to Diddy being arrested.
He was officially charged with racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty ahead of his May 2025 trial.
Despite all of his legal troubles including the onset of recent lawsuits there are many who support the mogul.
