Wendy Williams took a few shots at British royal Meghan Markle, who has been garnering waves of sympathy across the world after her tearful interview for the ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey went viral last week.

Fans of the new royal have flocked to her defense after she spoke earnestly about her troubles since marrying Prince Harry. The British press has been notoriously cruel to Markle, with many believing the stories have been leaked by Harry's older brother William, who is looking to get the press to stop covering his alleged infidelity

However, one person who said they had no sympathy for Markle is TV host Williams, who used a segment of her show to go after the British royal.

“Meghan, nobody feels sorry for you. You knew exactly what you were doing. And I applaud her plot-ation on the royal situation. But please, don’t try to garner sympathy from us. You knew what you were doing,” Williams said.

She mentioned that Markle was having a difficult time because she was not prepared for the huge increase in the attention she would garner as Prince Harry's wife.

“Of course, because you’re now a royal. They weren’t following you when you were on Suits. We didn’t even know who you were except when you came for employment here at Wendy and wanted to be one of our runway models,” Williams said.

The response online was far from kind to Williams.

At the end of her segment, Williams implied there was "something about" Markle that she doesn't like and suggested the couple move to the United States.

“Why not? I mean, move to America and live part-time in Africa like you want to do. You have to still go back to England. The thing about moving to America is, you’re really kicking the royal thing out of your life. So have a place in all three places. Have a mansion in Malibu, a big hut ― I’ve never been to Africa, I don’t know ― a big hotel or wherever you’re gonna live in Africa and then have your royal palace-esque-type place in England,” Williams said.
